The world's rudest, unfriendliest and dirtiest cities have been named and shamed in a new Tripadvisor survey - and Britain's capital has not come out of it well.
Only Moscow beat London in the unfriendliest city in the world category, and, despite its free museums, parks and attractions, the city that brought the world the 'Jubilympics' also came in the bottom five cities for value for money.
Cancun was awarded the top spot for friendliness, followed by Tokyo and Lisbon.
The latest findings come hot on the heels of a report published this month which named London as one of the worst tourist traps on the planet.
The magazine Wanderlust named and shamed the UK's capital as one of the world's 13 overrated tourist traps, saying: "... It's crowded... its transport system is notoriously slow and unreliable, people are not friendly, traffic is a nightmare, things are expensive, and the traditional tourist sites are frankly boring."
But Tripadvisor's Emma Shaw was quick to defend the UK's capital: "The popularity of London as one of the most visited cities in the world remains... Indeed, this year, it was voted the best city in the world by the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Awards. Even so, this study proves that even a great city isn't going to be perfect in every way..."
